AU-501221: Animals in Gallipoli

Hello! On 01/Ago/2016 I received a postcard from Australia, sent by Joanne. It shows a man and a dog, honouring the centenary of Gallipoli, and the use of animals in war.

Back of the card

Since this is a maxicard, there was supposed to be a stamp on the front; but since there isn't one, this is the square where the stamps are usually placed.

AU-501460: Milne Bay

Hello! On 05/Jul/2016 I received a postcard from Australia, sent by Sharon. It is a maxicard, showing some war graves from the Battle of Milne Bay (1942). Since it was raining on the day I received it, the water made the postcard soggy and some of the back stained the front.

Back of the card

And since it's a maxicard, here's a close-up of the stamp and the conmemorative cancellation.

Cheers!

[LOCATION #26] AU-422950: Strictly ballroom

Hello! On 30/May/2015 I received my first postcard from Australia, sent by Kathy. It shows a poster for the movie Strictly Ballroom, starring Paul Mercurio. This postcard is also my first maxicard (postcard with stamps on the front, instead of the back); I didn’t know this type of cards existed, so receiving it was a total surprise.

And since it’s a maxicard, the stamp is on the front, but here’s a close-up look of it.

And in case you’re curious to read what’s on the back…
